Resumo

Assim como outras ferramentas de automação e monitoramento de processos, os sistemas de alarmes evoluíram capitaneados pela popularização dos sistemas de controle, desenvolvimento que se traduz na cômoda inserção e configuração de pontos de alarmes. Esta facilidade fez com que muitos ambientes produtivos fossem projetados com pouco critério gerando acúmulo de alarmes desnecessários, com limites e prioridades errados. Dentro deste contexto, a adoção do gerenciamento de alarmes representa ganhos tanto para minimizar perdas e aperfeiçoar a produção quanto para aumentar a confiabilidade do processo. Descrevemos, assim, a experiência da aciaria da Gerdau Açominas no desenvolvimento e implantação de uma ampla metodologia de reengenharia e gerenciamento de alarmes capaz de tratar as informações e organizar as mesmas de forma a fornecer um melhor entendimento sobre os problemas e garantir apoio e agilidade aos processos de tomada de decisão das equipes envolvidas.

 

As well as other automation and monitoring process tools, the alarm systems evolved through popularization of control system, development meaning easy insertion and configuration of alarm points. Such facility made many production environments been projected with little criteria generating needless alarms, with wrong limits and priorities. Within this context, the adoption of alarm management represents a gain for stop loss production and makes process better and for improves plant reliability. We describe, thus, the experience of Gerdau Açominas’ steelmaking plant in developing and implanting a wide methodology in reengineering and management alarms capable of treat information and organize them in a way to provide a better understand of problems and guarantee support and agility to the team involved in the decision-making process.
