Resumo

A avaliação da corrosão em componentes utilizados na indústria offshore é uma ferramenta indispensável para corrigir e prevenir a deterioração dos sistemas no setor. O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar a corrosão pontual em aços API 5L X60 de duas conexões em relação à densidade e profundidade, além de caracterizar os subprodutos depositados sobre o metal base. A distribuição de pites foi uniforme; entretanto, o processo corrosivo na indústria se desenvolveu de forma que as cavidades se tornaram bastante profundas, representando uma perda de espessura alarmante. Ademais, a comparação entre as conexões mostra uma diferença na composição da camada semiprotetora relacionada, provavelmente, ao tempo de exposição

 

The evaluation of corrosion in components used in the offshore industry is an indispensable tool to correct and prevent the deterioration of the systems in the sector. The objective of this study was to analyze the punctual corrosion in API 5L X60 steels of two connections in relation to the density and depth, besides characterizing the subproducts deposited on the base metal. The distribution of pites was uniform; however, the corrosive process in the industry developed so that the cavities became quite deep, representing an alarming loss of thickness. In addition, the comparison between the connections shows a difference in the composition of the semiprotective layer related, probably, to the exposure time
