Resumo

A demanda por aços cada vez mais específicos, assim como requisitos de qualidade e limpidez elevados desafiam a indústria siderúrgica a buscar diferentes processos para atender o mercado cada vez mais exigente. Motivado por esses fatos, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a influência da injeção de argônio na válvula superior do distribuidor para reduzir a aglomeração de inclusões e ocorrências de obstrução dos veios durante o lingotamento contínuo de placas. Serão retiradas amostras de aço com as inclusões presentes na parte interna da válvula superior do distribuidor e caracterizadas através de microscopia ótica, microscopia eletrônica de varredura e Spark-DAT. Como resultado espera-se identificar as características das inclusões formadas na região da válvula superior e o volume das mesmas, assim como a influência da injeção de argônio na válvula superior para reduzir eventos de obstrução com consequentemente aumento de produtividade da máquina de lingotamento e melhoria na limpidez do aço.

 

The demand for specific steels, as well as high quality and cleanliness requirements challenge the steel industry to seek different processes to meet the increasingly demanding market. Motivated by these facts, the present work aims to evaluate the influence of argon injection in different tundish upper nozzle to reduce the agglomeration of inclusions with high melting point that may adhere to the inner wall and avoid clogging during the continuous casting of slabs. Steel samples with inclusions were taken inside the tundish upper nozzle and characterized using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Spark-DAT. As a result, it is expected to identify the characteristics of the inclusions formed in the region of the upper nozzle and their volume, as well as the influence of argon injection in the upper nozzle to reduce clogging events with a consequent increase in the casting machine productivity and improvement in the steel cleanliness
