ANÁLISE PRELIMINAR DA OTIMIZAÇÃO DO SISTEMA AL2O3-MNO UTILIZANDO DIFERENTES MODELOS TERMODINÂMICOS: PRELIMINARY EVALUATION OF THE ASSESSMENT OF THE AL2O3-MNO SYSTEM USING DIFFERENTS THERMODYNAMICS MODELS

A modelagem termodinâmica do sistema Al2O3-MnO foi realizada utilizando-se três modelos termodinâmicos: CEM (Compound Energy Model), modelo iônico e modelo de Kapoor-Frohberg-Gaye (KFG). Foi estabelecida uma comparação entre os diversos enfoques de cada um destes modelos termodinâmicos avaliando-se suas limitações para a modelagem deste sistema óxido. Para estabelecer esta comparação foram realizadas otimizações, com auxílio do módulo PARROT do programa ThermoCalc(R) aliado aos dados termodinâmicos disponíveis na literatura. Foram empregados o CEM, o modelo iônico e o modelo de KFG para a descrição das fases do sistema Al2O3-MnO de modo a explorar algumas combinações entre estes modelos, visto que o modelo de KFG descreve somente a fase líquida.

The thermodynamic modelling of Al2O3-MnO system was done by the use of three thermodynamic models: Compound Energy Model (CEM), Kappoor-Frohberg-Gaye (KFG) Model and Ionic Model. A comparison between the different approaches of each model was done by the evaluation of the models limitations for the modelling of this oxide system. For the establishment of this comparison some optimizations were realised, with support of PARROT module from the ThermoCalc package and the use of thermodynamics data present at literature. The CEM, KFG model and ionic models were used to describe the phases of the Al2O3-MnO system with emphasis to explore some combinations between this models, because the KFG model describe only the liquid phase.
