Resumo

A caracterização de microestruturas de materiais metálicos é de suma importância na quantificação e na qualificação das propriedades finais desejadas dos mesmos. Os materiais metálicos têm sido freqüentemente caracterizados via microscopia, ótica e eletrônica. Estes mecanismos baseiam-se na análise em 2D seguidas de correções analíticas para atingir resultados em 3D. No entanto, tais correções baseiam-se em suposições aproximadas da estrutura do material. É de fundamental importância conhecer qual aproximação é aplicável a cada material. Nesse trabalho analisa-se qual destas é aplicável à microestrutura gerada a partir da simulação por autômato celular. A partir de resultados obtidos pela análise estereológica de ferro puro policristalino, obteve-se valores que foram utilizados como dados de entrada na simulação. A partir da microestrutura gerada pelo autômato, houve a análise estereológica e finalmente ocorreu a comparação de resultados com dados analíticos relativos a diferentes tipos de poliedros encontrados na bibliografia.

 

Microstructural characterization of metallic materials is of paramount importance in the quantification and qualification of the desired final properties of the same. Metallic materials have often been characterized via microscopy, optical and electronic. These mechanisms are based on 2D analysis followed by corrections in order to achieve analytical results in 3D. However, such corrections are based on assumptions of approximate of the material structure. Is of fundamental importance know which approach is applicable to each material. In this paper we analyze which of these is applicable to the microstructure generated from the cellular automata simulation. From results obtained by stereological analysis of polycrystalline pure iron, obtained values that were used as input in the simulation. From the microstructure generated by the automata, there was the stereological analysis, and finally there was the comparison of results with analytical data to different types of polyhedra found in the bibliography.
