THERMAL ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITES WITH DIAMOND DISPERSED INTO MODIFIED DGEBA/TETA EPOXY MATRIX

Resumo

Neste trabalho realizou-se uma análise térmica por DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis) em compósitos com frações de 0, 10, 20 e 30 % em peso de partículas de diamante dispersas em matriz epóxi do tipo DGEBA/TETA modificada com diferentes partes de endurecedor por 100 partes de resina (phr). Os resultados obtidos mostraram que o módulo de armazenamento dos compósitos aumenta com a quantidade incorporada de diamante e sofre variações sensíveis com o valor de phr. Através da tangente delta foi possível avaliar prováveis mecanismos que contribuem para o desempenho termo- mecânico destes compósitos.

 

A thermal study by dynamic mechanical analysis, DMA, was performed in composites with 0, 10, 20 and 30 wt. % of diamond particles dispersed in a DGEBA/TETA type of epoxy matrix. In addition to the different percentages of diamond particles, the matrix was modified for distinct values of phr, i. e., parts of hardener per hundred parts of resin. The results showed that the storage modulus, E’, increases with the amount of diamond particles incorporated in the composite. Moreover, the value of E’ suffers sensible changes with the variation of the matrix phr. The values obtained for the delta tangent, allowed an evaluation of possible mechanisms that contribute to the thermal mechanical performance of these composites.
