Resumo

A partir de Agosto 2010 se producen en la colada continua de Ternium Siderar interrupciones operativas por rotura de barras tapón en el repartidor. Debido a la elevada ocurrencia de los mismos (una rotura mensual) y la concentración de estos eventos en una de las líneas, independientemente del repartidor utilizado, se decidió analizar la mecánica de los mismos mediante: 1) Estudios termomecánicos de la barra tapón y del mecanismo de accionamiento; 2) Evaluación y fatiga probable producida por el brazo de accionamiento mecánico; 3) Características del material refractario constituyente de la barra; y 4) Análisis de las prácticas operativas. El presente trabajo pretende ilustrar las implementaciones de las acciones enunciadas y la correlación con los resultados obtenidos.

 

Since August 2010, in the continuous casting machine of Ternium Siderar have been produced operational disruptions because of the rupture of the stopper bars. Due to the high occurrence of these events (one break per month) and the concentration in one of the strands, regardless of the tundish been used, it was decided to study the rupture mechanisms by: 1) Thermomechanical studies of stopper bar and the rod drive mechanism; 2) Evaluation and fatigue caused by the mechanical arm; 3) Characterization of stopper bar refractory material; 4) Analysis of operative practices. This paper aims to illustrate the implementations of the outlined actions and the correlation with the obtained results.
