Resumo

Nos últimos anos, tem-se destacado a vantajosa relação custo/benefício da utilização da termografia na indústria em programas de manutenção preventiva e preditiva. A capacidade de identificar problemas potenciais em sua fase inicial e de maneira não intrusiva, como defeitos e inclusões não aparentes em estruturas, presença de umidade e pontos de superaquecimento anormal em equipamentos ou em fases do processo tem incentivado a disseminação da técnica nos mais diversos setores. Neste trabalho serão apontadas as possibilidades do emprego da termografia em inspeções térmicas, assim como serão discutidos os seus modos de operação. As variáveis envolvidas no processo de medição serão discutidas e a influência sobre os resultados da medição avaliados, por fim, medidas que permitam otimizar sua aplicação serão sugeridas. Os procedimentos experimentais foram realizados nos laboratórios do Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)

 

The advantageous cost-benefit relationship of the utilization of thermography in of preventive and predictive maintenance programs has been emphasized over the last years. The capacity of identifying potential problems in the flaws’ initial phase such as small structural internal failures, unusually overheated spots in equipment or phases of processes has fostered its dissemination among various sectors of the economy. In this study the real possibilities of the use of the thermography in thermal inspections as well as its ways of operation will be argued. The results of measurements in samples of known characteristics will be presented. The variables involved in the measurement process will be argued and the influence on the results of the measurement evaluated. The experimental procedures have been carried out in the laboratories of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
