Resumo

Em um processo contínuo que conta com a participação de vários equipamentos, o equipamento mais lento é que ditará a produtividade de todo o processo. O trabalho que se segue relata as mudanças realizadas na máquina de lingotamento contínuo (MLC) que retiraram seu título de “gargalo” de produção. As alterações envolveram toda MLC, desde a geometria do molde passando pelo sistema de lubrificação, refrigeração primária e secundária até alguns procedimentos operacionais. Os resultados obtidos foram: incremento de produtividade de aproximadamente 17 t/h (13%), redução de problemas de forma no tarugo e o perfeito sincronismo da MLC com o forno elétrico a arco (FEA), o que possibilitou aproveitar 100% da capacidade de toda a aciaria.

 

In a continuous process that it counts with the participation of several equipments, the slowest equipment is that it will dictate the productivity of whole the process. The paper tells the changes made in the continuous casting machine (CCM) that removed its title of "bottleneck" of production. The alterations involved every CCM, from the geometry of the mold going by the lubrication system, primary and secondary cooling until some operational procedures. The obtained results were: productivity increment of approximately 17 t/h (13%), reduction of format problems in the billet, and the perfect synchronism of CCM with the electric arc furnace (FEA), the one that made possible take advantage 100% of the capacity of the whole meltshop.
