Resumo

O processo de tratamento térmico no Laminador a Quente tem como função garantir os processos de têmpera e revenimento da barra laminada, atingindo as propriedades mecânicas exigidas para o produto CA50 (vergalhão), conforme norma NBR 7480. Durante o processo de tratamento térmico, foi identificado um excesso no descarte de espiras nas extremidades da barra laminada para garantir a propriedade especificada para o produto em questão. Isto levava a uma perda metálica com impacto no rendimento metálico do laminador. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar as ações e os resultados obtidos com a redução da formação de espiras quentes e de transição e seu impacto na redução do descarte de espiras no Laminador a Quente.

 

The heat treatment process in the hot rolling mill is to ensure the function of quenching and tempering processes of the laminated bar reaching the mechanical properties required for the product CA50 (rebar) as NBR 7480. During the heat treatment process, has been identified an excess discarded rings at the head and tails of bars to ensure yield strenght to the product in question. This led to a loss in income metal of the mill. This paper aims to present the actions and the results obtained by reducing the formation of hot and transition rings and its impact in reducing the discarded rings in the Hot Rolling Mill.
