AVALIAÇÃO DA PROTEÇÃO CONTRA A CORROSÃO NAS TEMPERATURAS DE 30ºC e 70ºC OFERECIDA PELOS INIBIDORES DIETANOLAMINA E TRIETANOLAMINA AO AÇO API 5L GRAU B: EVALUATION OF CORROSION PROTECTION IN TEMPERATURES OF 30ºC and 70ºC MADE BY INHIBITORS DIETHANOLAMINE TRIETHANOLAMINE AND THE STEEL API 5L GRADE B

Neste trabalho é feita uma comparação da proteção contra a corrosão oferecida pela aplicação dos inibidores dietanolamina e trietanolamina ao aço API 5L grau B. Os ensaios potenciodinâmicos e de espectroscopia de impedância eletroquímica foram realizados nas temperaturas de 30ºC e 70ºC, usando concentrações de 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 e 10,0 milimols dos inibidores dietanolamina e trietanolamina. As curvas de polarização mostram que há um aumento do potencial de pite e, consequentemente, melhoria da passivação do aço com a adição tanto do inibidor dietanolamina quanto do inibidor trietanolamina. A proteção oferecida ao aço API 5L grau B pelos dois inibidores testados se torna mais efetiva com o aumento da temperatura de 30ºC para 70ºC, conforme mostram os ensaios eletroquímicos.

In this study a comparison is made of corrosion protection offered by the application of inhibitors diethanolamine and triethanolamine steel API 5L grade B, usually employed in pipelines transporting oil and gas. Potentiodynamic tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests were performed at temperatures of 30ºC and 70ºC, using concentrations of 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 milimols of diethanolamine and triethanolamine inhibitors. The polarization curves show that there is an increase of the pitting potential and hence improvement of the steel passivation with the addition of either diethanolamine or triethanolamine inhibitor. The protection provided to steel API 5L grade B by the two inhibitors tested becomes more effective with increasing temperature from 30ºC to 70ºC, as shown by the electrochemical tests.
