Resumo

Na produção de aços para a indústria automobilística, o controle das inclusões presentes no aço desempenha papel fundamental nas propriedades do produto final. Estas inclusões são bastante influenciadas pelos teores de alumínio, silício, cálcio e enxofre presentes no aço. Este trabalho tem por objetivo caracterizar os resultados de inclusões obtidos durante o refino secundário em forno panela, e compará-las com inclusões encontradas em produto final. A proposta deste trabalho é a análise da seqüência de processo de produção de aços especiais, avaliando-se e comparando-se resultados sob o ponto de vista de evolução das inclusões presentes no aço. A metodologia consiste em retirada de amostras durante o refino secundário e avaliação da composição química e morfologia das inclusões por microscopia eletrônica de varredura, analisando do caminho percorrido pelas inclusões durante as etapas de processo. Como resultados deste estudo caracteriza-se tipos e morfologias de inclusões presentes durante o refino secundário de aços para a construção mecânica, fornecendo uma base de dados para análise de parâmetros de processo e avaliação e implementação de contra medidas que controlem a presença destes tipos de inclusões no produto final.

 

In the production of steel for automotive industry, the control of inclusions plays a major role in the properties of the final product. These inclusions are mainly influenced by the contents of aluminium, silicon, calcium and sulphur in the steel. The present paper aims to make a characterization of the results of inclusion obtained during the secondary refining in the ladle furnace, and to compare them to the inclusions found in the final product. The purpose of this work is to analyse the steps of the process o the production of speciality steels, evaluating and comparing the results concerning the evolution of the inclusions in the steel. The methodology consists in taking samples during the secondary refining and to evaluate the chemical composition and morphology of the inclusions using scanning electron microscopy, analysing the path described by the inclusions along the steps of the process. As result for this study types and morphologies of inclusions present during the secondary refining of steels for automotive industry are characterised, creating a background for the analysis of the process parameters and evaluation and implementation of counter measures which may control the existence of this types of inclusions in the final product.
