Resumo

A Ponte Marechal Hermes, situada sobre o Rio São Francisco, entre as cidades de Pirapora e Buritizeiro/MG, encontra-se em estado avançado de degradação devido à corrosão, o que leva à necessidade de um trabalho de recuperação. Para minimizar este tipo de problema são necessários procedimentos de inspeção que permitam avaliar a condição da estrutura da ponte. Além disso, é importante que se avalie a capacidade de carga da ponte, já que, à medida que as pontes envelhecem, a deterioração causada pelo tráfego intenso e um meio ambiente agressivo, tornam-se crescentemente significantes resultando uma alta freqüência de reparos e em uma redução na sua capacidade de carga. Este trabalho procurou avaliar a capacidade de carga da Ponte Marechal Hermes (Rio São Francisco), identificar as peças estruturais mais solicitadas e simular o dano da estrutura devido à corrosão, por meio de uma modelagem em elementos finitos, utilizando o programa computacional SAP2000.

 

The Marechal Hermes Bridge, situated over São Francisco river, between the cities of Pirapora and Buritizeiro/MG, is in an advanced condition of degradation because of the corrosion, what causes the need of a recovery work. In order to reduce this kind of problem it is necessary to use inspections procedures to appraise the condition of the bridge structure. Beside, it is important to appraise the load bridge capacity, because, as the bridge get older, the deterioration caused by the intense traffic and an aggressive environment, become increasingly significant, resulting in a high number of repairs and in a reduction of its load capacity. This research intended to appraise the bridge’s load capacity, to identify the most needed structure parts and to simulate the damage en the structure because of the corrosion, throughout shaping in finite elements, using the computer program SAP2000.
