Resumo

Este trabalho avalia o desempenho do processo de sinterização utilizando o sistema de segregação intensa SSW (Segregation Slit Wire). A incorporação desta tecnologia pela Gerdau Açominas ocorreu junto com a implantação do Processo HPS (Hybrid Pelletized Sinter). Para esta nova condição, houve a necessidade de adequação das granulometrias das diversas matérias-primas com a finalidade de melhorar o desempenho do processo de sinterização. Desta forma foram realizados estudos para adequação da granulometria da mistura visando ao melhor desempenho do segregador e, por conseqüência, ao aumento de produtividade. Para analisar o efeito da segregação e da mudança da granulometria, foi utilizada uma metodologia de amostragem da mistura a sinterizar logo após o carregamento da máquina, e do material totalmente sinterizado. Como conclusão, é apresentada a disposição do material no leito da mistura após segregação, bem como o efeito do sistema de segregação no processo de produção de sínter.

 

This work evaluates the performance of the sintering process using the intense segregation system SSW (Segregation Slit Wire). The incorporation of this technology by Gerdau Açominas happened at the same time as the HPS (Hybrid Pelletized Sinter) process implantation. The new condition demanded a necessity of adaptation of the raw-materials granulometric size, with the objective of improving the sintering process performance. Studies had been done for the adaptation of the mixture’s granulometric size with the purpose of reaching the best performance of the segregator and, consequently, the improving of productivity. To analyze the segregation effect and granulometric size changes, a methodology of sampling of the sintering mixture was utilized after the charging of the sinter machine and of the sinter. The samples were collected for all over the height and breadth of sinter machine sector. As a conclusion, the disposition in the bed of the mixture after segregation is showed, as well the effect of the segregation system in the sinter production process.
