Resumo

Consumo de combustíveis, produtividade e vida útil têm sido os principais parâmetros de avaliação da performance dos altos-fornos. O desgaste do cadinho tem sido responsável por grande parte das reformas efetuadas nos altos-fornos e, conseqüentemente, um fator muito importante para os resultados de uma usina siderúrgica. Na CST, o controle de distribuição de carga é a melhor ferramenta de controle operacional usada para garantir a performance e prolongar a vida útil do alto-forno. No decorrer de 21 anos de operação contínua, alta produtividade e baixo consumo de combustíveis têm sido mantidos sem o aparecimento de trincas na carcaça e sem desgaste excessivo do cadinho.

 

Responsible for about 60 % of production costs, Blast Furnace operational performance is very important for the results of the steelworks. Nowadays, BF operational performance has been measured through its productivity, Fuel consumption and longevity. Hearth wear has been responsible for the most Blast Furnace recent shutdowns, and its investigation is very important. At CST, burden distribution control, certainly means the biggest tool available for increasing the operational performance and to control the furnace life. Through these 21 years of continuous operation, high productivity at low Fuel (and Coke) consumption are being kept with just few stave pipes (2.0 % of the total) burnt out and a very small length of shell cracks. And, although there are several issues unsolved, the understanding of the effect of burden distribution on the hearth wear mechanism has allowed the control of hearth temperatures.
