Resumo

Atualmente a produção industrial de diamantes é feita via aplicação de altas pressões e altas temperaturas em presença de metais solventes catalisadores. Os cristais obtidos são caracterizados pela presença de vários tipos de defeitos estruturais e morfológicos. Do ponto de vista da aplicação a identificação dos defeitos dos diamantes sintéticos é de grande relevância, uma vez que estes afetam diretamente as propriedades dos cristais. No presente trabalho são apresentados resultados que mostram que cristais sintetizados no sistema Ni-Mn-Zn-C apresentam como características principais a morfologia do tipo resinóide e elevada friabiliade.

 

Now the industrial production of diamonds is made through application of high pressures and high temperatures in presence of catalytic solvent metals. The obtained crystals are characterized by the presence of several types of structural and morphologic defects. Of the point of view of the application the identification of the defects of the synthetic diamonds is of great relevance, once these affect the properties of the crystals directly. In the present work they are presented results that show that crystals synthesized in the system Ni-Mn-C present as main characteristics the morphology of the type resinóide and high friabiliade.
