O trabalho mostra a importância de se caracterizar técnica e economicamente as sucatas como componente fundamental da carga de Fornos Elétricos. Usando notas de seus estudos, o autor caracteriza as sucatas de aço quanto a sua origem, conteúdo de impurezas e composição química. O fator custo real da sucata para o Aciarista é analisado. Concluímos pela importância de se envolver o abastecimento (Compras de Sucata) com o Aciarista usuário final, como forma de reduzir o custo do aço líquido.
The paper shows technical and economical considerations about the scrap as the main component of the EAF charge. The author makes the use of his own papers and considerations based on the following aspects of the metallic charge: the origin, the contents on harmful elements and non-metallic that affect the steel cost. The Cost is the main issue. As a conclusion, the paper shows how important is to involve the scrap purchaser and the steel makers as a tool to reduce the billet cost.
