Resumo

Durante o crescimento anormal de grão, em contraste com o crescimento normal de grão, somente poucos grãos grandes dominam o processo de crescimento. O presente estudo trata da evolução dos grãos anormais em uma liga Al-1% massa Mn. São apresentadas medidas da fração volumétrica dos grãos anormais em função do tempo de tratamento térmico. Os dados experimentais são comparados com equações do tipo JMAK. Os resultados sugerem que o início do crescimento anormal de grão ocorre na interface entre os grãos anormais e os grãos menores da matriz.

 

During abnormal grain growth, in contrast with the normal grain growth, only few large grains dominate the grain growth process. The present study deals with the evolution of the abnormal grains in an Al-1mass% Mn alloy. They are presented measured of the volume fraction of the abnormal grains in function of the heat treatment time. The experimental data are compared with equations of type JMAK. The results suggest that the beginning of the abnormal grain growth occurs in the interface between the abnormal grains and the small grains of the matrix.
