Resumo

Neste trabalho são apresentados os resultados de lubricidade de materiais de referência de biodiesel puros e em mistura B20 com combustível diesel. A lubricidade foi caracterizada em termos de diâmetro médio de desgaste da esfera, bem como de coeficiente de atrito em função da velocidade de ensaio (curva de Stribeck) em ensaios de esfera-contra-disco. As diferenças no atrito e no desgaste resultantes com os diferentes combustíveis foram comparadas com resultados de ensaios de lubricidade conforme método descrito na norma ASTM 6079. Os combustíveis foram caracterizados por calorimetria diferencial de varredura e variações ocorridas nos ensaios são discutidas. Como resultado geral, além do procedimento de ensaio em si, foi também delineado o procedimento de análise de resultados, englobando microscopia óptica e perfilometria para determinar o desgaste.

 

This paper presents the results of lubricity of reference materials of pure biodiesel and B20 blended with diesel fuel. The lubricity was characterized in terms of ball wear diameter and coefficient of friction as a function of speed (Stribeck curve), in ball-on-disk tests. The differences in friction and wear resulting from the different fuels are compared with the results from lubricity tests by the ASTM 6079 method. The fuels were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and variations occurred after the tribological tests are discussed. As a general result, an alternative method for lubricity test of fuels was established, considering yet analysis of friction and wear by optical microscopy and profilometry.
