Resumo

Nos últimos anos vem crescendo a quantidade de estudos feitos com materiais naturais, a fim de se encontrar alternativas ao uso de materiais sintéticos. Dentre estes materiais, encontram-se as fibras lignocelulósicas, grupo ao qual pertence à fibra de rami (Boehmeria nívea). Ensaios mecânicos de compósitos da referida fibra, realizados anteriormente, apresentaram bons resultados. Neste trabalho, avaliou-se o comportamento mecânico de compósitos de matriz poliéster reforçados com fibras aleatórias de rami. As porcentagens em volume de fibra variaram de 0% a 30%, sendo estas contínuas e dispostas de forma alinhada. Os resultados encontrados foram satisfatórios, pois conferiram um aumento significativo na resistência à tração da matriz polimérica.

 

In last few years has increased the numbers of studies made with natural materials, aiming to find useable alternatives for synthetic materials. Among these materials, there are lignocellulosic fibers like the ramie fiber (Boehmeria nivea). Mechanical tests of composites reinforced with this fiber, previously made, showed good results. In this study, we evaluated the mechanical behavior of polyester matrix composites reinforced with of random ramie fibers. The percentages of continuous and aligned fiber goes from 0% to 30% in volume. The results were satisfactory, because was conferred a significant increase of the polymer matrix tensile strength.
