The Steel industry shows great technological developments that certainly provides significant contributions to the development of any country. However, it is extremely dependent on fossil fuel energy. From this principle, the technique pulverized coal injection (PCI) leaves. The injection tuyeres in the blast furnace coke which replaces part is overloaded in order to produce pig iron with carbon energy cheaper. Assuming that the raw materials (coal or coke) is getting scarce and, consequently, the cost to produce pig iron is getting bigger, any decrease in the consumption of these resources should be allocated and will be crucial to the survival of the steel industry in near future. In addition, we study techniques using alternative fuels replacing charcoal as sugarcane bagasse, tires, plastics and coffee and rice husks. These materials once crushed small particle size can be used for PCI, replacing partly charcoal. Besides economy, these benefits allow the plants using this system to better meet environmental laws, improving their sustainability. The aim of this project is the result of the scope of behavior of the injection of pulverized material in the trough-carbon simulating a combustion test.
