Resumo

A pele humana apresenta uma estrutura protéica e celular complexa exercendo variadas funções anatomo-fisiológicas, tida também como o maior órgão do corpo. A demanda por curativos eficientes é muito alta, principalmente para tratamento de lesões crônicas. Porém o alto custo desses curativos é um empecilho para o uso dos mesmos em grandes centros de saúde. Existem alguns materiais poliméricos específicos (os polímeros inteligentes) que apresentam certas propriedades ao serem expostos a um estímulo (mudança de temperatura, mudança de pH, campo elétrico etc.). Fundamentado nessas propriedades especiais desse grupo de polímeros inteligentes que nos baseamos para elaborar um curativo que, além de oferecer todas as funções de um curativo comum, como a proteção do ferimento, impedindo a entrada de bactérias mas também permitindo a troca de gases, possibilite também uma rápida e eficiente cicatrização da pele através da liberação controlada de fármacos.

 

Human skin has a complex cellular protein structure acting on various anatomical and physiological functions, also regarded as the largest organ of the body. The demand for efficient curatives is very high, especially for treatment of chronic injuries. But the high cost of these curatives is an obstacle to their use in large health centers. There are some specific polymeric materials (intelligent polymers) which have certain properties when exposed to a stimulus (change of temperature, pH change, electric field, etc.). Based on these special properties of this group of intelligent polymers, we have developed a curative that offers all the functions of a common one, such as protection of the wound, preventing the entry of bacteria but also allowing the exchange of gases while it also allows a rapid and efficient healing of the skin through controlled release of drugs.
