Resumo

Estudos técnicos apontaram a Olivina como um mineral que poderia substituir alguns insumos consumidos na Aciaria com redução de custos. A grande dificuldade seria a logistica necessária para esta importação, visto que o material é oriundo da Noruega. A logistica que apresentou o melhor custo seria com a utilização do Porto Publico da CODESA, com isso o desafio ficou maior ainda. Utilizar um terminal com infra-estrutura precária com restrições de calado, problemas de equipamentos, sem retro área adequada, num volume alto e sendo material a granel aumentava ainda mais a complexidade. Fizemos duas importações utilizando alternativas distintas para que fossem avaliadas as oportunidades de melhoria. O sucesso da operação contou com apoio dos órgãos IEMA - Meio Ambiente, CODESA - Porto Vitoria, as empresas operadoras, bem como o fornecedor e a AMT como recebedora da carga. O sucesso foi alcançado pois conseguimos operar de forma inédita para a AMT, bem como conseguimos uma redução de custos na ordem de US$ 1,65 por toneladas de aço produzido, sendo previsto uma redução de custo na ordem de US$ 10.000.000,00 para o ano de 2011 e com potencial de ser maior ainda. A logistica é complexa, a utilização deste insumo na Aciaria é inédita e os resultados excelentes

 

Technical studies indicated the Olivine as a mineral that could replace some inputs consumed in the steel plant to reduce costs. The difficulty would be the logistics required for this import, because the material is from Norway. The logistics that made the cost would be better with the use public port CODESA, thus the challenge was even greater. Using a terminal with poor infrastructure with draft restrictions, equipment problems, not backward area, a high volume and bulk material being further increased the complexity. We import using two different alternatives were evaluated for improvement opportunities. The success of the operation had the support of the organs IEMA - Environment, CODESA - Vitoria Harbour carrier companies, as well as the supplier and recipient of the AMT burden. Success was achieved because we can operate in an unprecedented manner for the AMT, and achieved a reduction of costs in the order of $ 1,65 per ton of steel produced, and provided a cost savings of U.S. $ 10,000,000 00 for the year 2011 and with the potential to be even larger. The logistics are complex, the use of this input in Steelmaking is unprecedented and excellent results
