Resumo

Em 2015 o Painel Double Side e o Protect Block foram instalados no FEA da Votorantim Siderurgia Resende (atualmente, ArcelorMittal Sul Fluminense Resende) em substituição ao painel refrigerado e bloco de cobre da Posição 10 do FEA com o objetivo de aumentar a confiabilidade operacional do processo, reduzir os riscos de acidentes, aumentar a disponibilidade do FEA, reduzir o número de manutenção (corretiva e preventiva), reduzir os custos de manutenção (corretiva e preventiva) e reduzir o tempo de Power Off do FEA. Os resultados obtidos foram imediatos e positivos, a vida dos painéis Double Side, por exemplo, em média é superior a 3 vezes a vida útil dos painéis convencionais. Devido aos bons resultados obtidos, o uso destas tecnologias foi ampliada para outras posições do FEA. Este artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar os resultados consolidados de cerca de 3 anos de operação do Painel Double Side e Protect Block.

 

In 2015 Double Side Panel and Protect Block technologies were installed in the EAF of the Votorantim Resende stellmaking shop (nowadays ArcelorMittal South Fluminense Resende) replacing the water colled panel “P-10” with the aim to increase the operational reliability of the process, reduce the risks of operational accidents, increase the availability of equipment, reduce the number of interventions of maintenance (preventive and corrective), reduce the costs of maintenance (preventive and corrective) and therefore reduce EAF power off time. The results were immediate and positive, the life of the Double Side Panel, for example, has been more than 3 times the average life of conventional Panel. Due to the good results obtained, the use of these technologies has been extended to other positions of the EAF. This paper aims to present the consolidated results of about 3 years of operation of Double Side and Protect Block technologies
