Resumo

O aço rápido AISI M2 é normalmente austenitizado em 1.200oC e revenido a altas temperaturas. Este tratamento gera quantidade significativa de austenita retida que afeta diretamente as propriedades dos aços. Nos últimos anos tem sido feito uso extensivo de aço rápido para ferramentas em aplicações de conformação a frio, a fim de melhorar o desempenho em situações específicas. O trabalho apresenta as melhorias obtidas através das alterações do processo de tratamento térmico e o ciclo mais adequado a punções para extrusão reversa fabricados em AISI-M2, com a utilização da Criogenia.

 

The AISI M2 steel is usually austeniting at 1200oC and tempering at high temperatures. This treatment generates significant amount of retained austenite tha affects the properties of steels. In recent years has made extensive use of high- speed steel for application of conformation in the cold in order to improve performance in specific situations.The work presents the improvements made through changes in the process of heat treatment cycle and more suitable for punch to reverse extrusion manufactured in AISI-M2, with the use of cryogenics.
