EFFECT OF MILL DIMENSIONS AND BALL CHARGE DISTRIBUTION UPON THE SPECIFIC ENERGY OF REGRINDING IN BENCH SCALE TESTS

Resumo

Os ensaios foram realizados em moinhos de bancada conforme metodologia desenvolvida por Donda de forma a avaliar o efeito da distribuição da carga de bolas e das dimensões do moinho sobre a energia específica de remoagem. Para as amostras testadas, concentrado de minério de ferro por flotação, os resultados comprovam que a distribuição da carga de bolas mais “fina” possui um efeito de redução significativo na energia específica de remoagem. Enquanto que a variação nas dimensões do moinho não demonstrou nenhum efeito significativo na energia específica de remoagem. O consumo específico de energia na remoagem foi determinado através da equação de Rowland para moinhos com diâmetro menor que 2,44m.

 

The assays had been carried through in agreement group of bench mills methodology developed for Donda to evaluate the effect of the ball charge distribution and the dimensions of the mill on the specific energy of regrinding. For the samples tested, concentrate of flotation iron ore, the results prove that the ball charge distribution more “fine” have a significant effect of reduction in the specific energy of regrinding. The variation in the dimensions of the mill did not demonstrate significant effect in the specific energy of regrinding. The specific energy consumption in the regrinding was determined through the equation of Rowland for mills with lesser diameter that 2,44m.
