EFFECT OF STATIC AGING AT LOW TEMPERATURES ON THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF DUPLEX STAINLESS STEELS 2205 AND LEAN DUPLEX 2304

Resumo

Os efeitos do tratamento térmico levando à formação de fase α durante o recozimento foram analisados considerando a evolução microestrutural e as propriedades mecânicas de um aço inoxidável duplex (AID) 2205 e de um aço inoxidável duplex lean (AIDL) 2304. Amostras laminadas a quente de 4 mm de espessura foram aquecidas a 500ºC por 0,5 h; 2 h e 24 h. A técnica de difração de raios X (DRX) foi empregada para quantificar a fração volumétrica das fases. A microtextura foi analisada por meio da função de distribuição de orientação (ODF). Após o teste de dureza, todas as amostras tiveram um aumento em seus valores. Para a temperatura de 500ºC e tempos empregados, além do aumento de dureza, discretas modificações foram observadas nas figuras de difração de elétrons retro espalhados (EBSD), bem como nos difratogramas de raios-X.

 

The effects of heat treatment leading to α phase formation during ageing were analyzed on the light of microstructural evolution and the mechanical propertie of a duplex stainless steel 2205 (DSS) and a lean duplex stainless steel (LDSS) 2304. For this, hot rolled samples of 4 mm thickness were heat-heated at 500ºC by 0.5, 2 and 24 h. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to quantify the phases volume fraction. The texture was analyzed by means of the orientation distribution function (ODF). After the hardness tests, all samples had an increase in their values. For the temperature of 500ºC and times employed, beside an increase in the hardness, slight changes were observed in the EBSD maps obtained by backscatter electron diffraction images as well as in the X-ray diffraction patterns.
