Resumo

O endurecimento secundário de aços rápidos AISI M3:2 produzidos por metalurgia convencional e por diferentes técnicas de metalurgia do pó é objeto desse trabalho de pesquisa. O aço rápido Sinter 23, obtido por sinterização com compactação isostática a quente e o aço rápido M3:2 obtido por compactação uniaxial a frio e sinterização com fase líquida com e sem a adição de 0,3%C (na forma de grafite) e o aço rápido convencional VWM3C foram submetidos ao tratamento térmico de endurecimento e tiveram suas propriedades de dureza Rockwell C e Vickers avaliadas no sentido de estabelecer comparações entre os mesmos levando-se em conta as suas respostas ao tratamento térmico utilizado e a dterminação dos seus picos de endurecimento secundário. Os aços rápidos em questão foram austenitizados a 1140, 1160, 1180 e 1200

 

The main aim of this work is to study the behaviour of the secondary hardening of AISI M3:2 high speed steel obtained by conventional metallurgy and different powder metallurgy techniques submitted to the same procedure of heat treatment. M3:2 Sinter 23 obtained by hot isostatic pressing, VWM3C processed by conventional metallurgy route and two vacuum sintered steels obtained by cold compaction of M3:2 water atomized powders with and without some small addition of 0.3% of carbon (graphite) and liquid phase sintering were submitted to hardening in order to study the sencondary hardening behaviour of these steels. The four M3:2 high speed steels were submitted to heat treatment of hardening with austenitizing temperatures of 1140, 1160, 1180 and 1200
