Resumo

O zinco vem sendo utilizado há bastante tempo como revestimento protetor em corpos automotivos. No entanto, cada vez mais a indústria busca revestimentos protetores mais resistentes à corrosão e que tenham boas características de soldabilidade, pintabilidade e principalmente baixo custo. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo verificar a influência de parâmetros na eficiência de proteção de revestimentos de Zn sobre o aço. Estudou-se preliminarmente o comportamento eletroquímico nos revestimentos de zinco do tipo galvannealing, Galvalume, e galvanização a fogo convencional pela técnica de varredura com eletrodo vibratório (SVET). As amostras também foram caracterizadas por Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura, (MEV) Microanálise Elementar por Espectrometria Dispersiva de raios-X (EDS). Observa-se ainda a presença de correntes anódicas em distâncias muito maiores do que a espessura do revestimento de Zn.

 

Zinc has been used since a long time as a protective coating on automotive bodies. However, the industry is looking increasingly for protective coatings more resistant to corrosion, which have good weldability, paintability and especially low cost. This work aims to study the influence of parameters on the protection efficiency of zinc coatings on steel. The electrochemical behavior of zinc coatings (GA, GI and Galvalume) was studied by scanning vibrating electrode techniques (SVET). The samples were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDS). It was also observed the presence of Anodic currents were observed at distances much higher than the thickness of Zn coatings
