Resumo

Esse trabalho tem como objetivo estudar as alternativas de misturas de carvões minerais com biomassa e a sua influência na qualidade do coque produzido em escala piloto e industrial. Foram selecionadas 20 misturas de carvões com percentuais de biomassa variando de 2,0 a 6,0 e caracterizadas 7 tipos de biomassas sendo as mesmas identificadas como BIO1,BIO2,BIO3,BIO4,BIO5,BIO6 e BIO7. A caracterização dos materiais foi feita no laboratório central da metalurgia da redução. Nos testes realizados em escala piloto com as misturas mostraram a redução no teor de enxofre e na fluidez com o aumento da participação da biomassa. O teor de cinzas aumentou 5% na mistura quando foi utilizado a BIO04 no nível de 6,0 %. Quanto ao F.S.I. (Índice de Inchamento do carvão), não houve alteração significativa nos resultados obtidos. A participação em percentagens de até 4,0 não afetou a resistência mecânica a frio do coque (D.I. 150/15), o mesmo não aconteceu para a reatividade do coque que aumentou com as biomassas BIO2,BIO3 e BIO7. Em relação ao tamanho médio do coque houve elevação de 16,0 mm. quando utilizou 6,0% da BIO4 na mistura de carvão. Os resultados de qualidade do coque obtidos nos testes em escala industrial ficaram compatíveis com os resultados obtidos no forno piloto.

 

That work has as objective to study the alternatives of mixtures with coal blend and biomass and its influence in the coke quality produced in industrial and lab scale. Where selected 20 blends with biomass participation between 2 to 6 % and seven types of the biomass that were selected being the same identified as BIO1, BIO2,BIO3,BIO4,BIO5,BIO6 and BIO7. The characterization of that material was made in the central laboratory of the iron making department. In the tests accomplished in pilot scale the results showed that the sulfur content and fluidity decreased with the biomass participation in the blend increased. The ash content raised 5.0% in the coal blend with the 6.0% of the BIO4 utilization and the F.S.I. (free swelling index) not change significant. The participation in percentage up to 4.0 we didn't observe significant effects in the Drum index, the same not happening with the reactivity that went up in case of the BIO2,BIO3 and BIO7. The coke average size raised 16.0 mm. when utilized 6.0% of the biomass BIO4 in the blend. The results of the coke quality obtained in the industrial tests were compatible with the results obtained in the pilot tests.
