Resumo

Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar a capacidade das ligas Ti34Cu36Ni8Zr22 e (TiZr)80Co12Fe8 de formarem estrutura amorfa. Para tanto, as ligas foram fundidas em forno a arco e em seguida foram produzidas fitas solidificadas rapidamente em roda de cobre com alta rotação (melt-spinning). As fitas foram caracterizadas por microscopia eletrônica de varredura e microanálise (MEV/EDS), difração de raios X (DRX) e calorimetria exploratória de varredura (DSC). Após análise dos resultados, pode-se identificar a presença de temperatura de transição vítrea (Tg) e difratograma característico de estrutura amorfa em ambas as composições. As análises de MEV/EDS mostraram a ausência da presença de fases cristalinas, confirmando a capacidade de formação de fases amorfas das ligas em questão.

 

This work aimed to evaluate the glass forming ability of Ti34Cu36Ni8Zr22 and (TiZr)80Co12Fe8 alloys. Ingots of the alloys were obtained by arc melted and then rapidly solidified by melt-spinning in order to produce ribbons. The ribbons were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy and microanalysis (SEM/EDS), x- ray difraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results showed the presence of glass transition temperature (Tg) and characteristic difractograms of amorphous structures in both compositions. SEM/EDS had shown the absence of crystalline phases, confirming the ability of these alloys to form amorphous phases.
