Resumo

A indústria coureiro-calçadista, durante o processo de curtimento do couro, produz aparas que, por causa do método empregado, têm cromo na sua composição química. O objetivo geral deste trabalho é mostrar que é possível a reutilização do metal contido como matéria prima na produção de aço inoxidável, livrando o meio ambiente de um resíduo perigoso. Trata-se, aqui, do estudo para a elaboração de uma liga com as características similares às de uma ferroliga FeCr-AC comercial. Foi realizada uma análise termodinâmica simulando o processo de redução do óxido de cromo com os objetivos de fundamentar e de fornecer as condições dos futuros experimentos. Ao nível de laboratório, em estágio preliminar, foi demostrado que é possível a reutilização do cromo contido nas cinzas da incineração das aparas de couro.

 

The tanning and shoes industry, during the process of tanning of the leather, produces shavings that, because of the used method, have chromium in its chemical composition. The general objective of this work is to show that the recycling of the contained metal is possible as raw material in the stainless steel production, exempting the environment of a dangerous residue. It is treated, here, of the study for the elaboration of an alloy with the similar characteristics to the ones of one commercial ferroalloy FeCr-HC. A thermodynamic analysis was carried through simulating the process of reduction of chromium oxide with the objectives to base and to supply the conditions of the future experiments. To the laboratory level, in preliminary period of training, it was demonstrated that the reutilização of chromium contained in leached ashes of the incineration of leather shavings is possible.
