Resumo

Neste trabalho pretende-se avaliar o efeito da nitretação por plasma na liga Ti-6Al- 4V com uma estrutura típica de Widmanstätten submetida a testes de fluência a 600 °C. Os resultados permitiram concluir que a microes trutura da liga Ti-6Al-4V apresentou uma dureza média de 300 ± 17 HV. Após o tratamento termoquímico por plasma observou-se a formação de uma camada nitretada com espessura média de 4 μm e dureza de 1539 ± 157 HV em função da presença das fases Ti2N e TiN identificadas por difratometria de raios X. A nitretação reduziu os valores de rugosidade média de 1,29 μm para 1,18 μm. A resistência a fluência foi significativamente melhorada quando comparada à liga sem tratamento superficial

 

This work aims to evaluate the effect of plasma nitriding on the Ti-6Al-4V alloy with a typical structure of Widmanstätten subjected to creep tests at 600 °C. The results showed that the Ti-6Al-4V alloy had a hardness of 300 ± 17 HV. After treatment thermochemical by plasma, was observed the formation of a nitrided layer of thickness of 4 μm and hardness of 1539 ± 157 HV due to presence of the Ti2N and TiN phases identified by X-ray diffraction. The plasma nitriding reduced the values of average roughness of 1,29 μm to 1,18 μm. The creep properties of nitrided specimens were significantly improved in comparison with those of the unnitrided Ti- 6Al-4V alloy
