Resumo

Este trabalho apresenta as ações de curto e médio prazo que foram implementadas para redução do consumo específico de bentonita como aglomerante na formação de pelotas de minério de ferro. Com a redução da superfície específica de trabalho do minério moído, inclusão de novos minérios de ferro na matriz de fornecimento e elevação da produtividade das Usinas, o consumo deste aglomerante subiu significativamente, provocando modificações de rotina e de desenvolvimento a fim de otimizar-se o consumo de bentonita.

 

This work presents the actions that were implemented for reduction the bentonite consumption as binder in the iron ore pellets formation. With the reduction of the iron ore specific surface, the use of new iron ores in the supply matrix and the raise of the plants productivity, the consumption of this binder increased strongly, causing modifications in the routine and in development in order to optimize the bentonite consumption.
