Resumo

O artigo técnico-científico em questão trata-se de uma exposição dos resultados da análise metalográfica, do tratamento térmico em atmosfera controlada de gás hélio e sua relevância na indústria metalúrgica. O objetivo do estudo foi investigar os efeitos desse tipo de tratamento térmico em ligas de aço carbono de categoria SAE 1070 e 1080, visando melhorar suas propriedades sem afetar a superfície dos efeitos de corrosão decorridos do tratamento. Os resultados mostraram que o tratamento térmico em atmosfera controlada de gás hélio foi capaz de melhorar significativamente a dureza do material como esperado. O uso de hélio como gás de tratamento térmico pode ser particularmente interessante devido às suas propriedades inertes e à sua capacidade de evitar a oxidação dos materiais.

 

The technical-scientific article in question is an exposition of the results of metallographic analysis of heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere of helium gas and its relevance in the metallurgical industry. The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of this type of heat treatment on carbon steel alloys of SAE 1070 and 1080 categories, aiming to improve their properties without affecting the surface corrosion effects resulting from the treatment. The results showed that the heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere of helium gas was able to significantly improve the hardness of the material as expected. The use of helium as a heat treatment gas can be particularly interesting due to its inert properties and its ability to prevent oxidation of materials.
