Resumo

El procesamiento de mineral proveniente de yacimientos heterogéneos en los últimos años en Sidor C.A., ha conllevado a la ejecución de estudios para determinar el efecto de la variabilidad de las características del mineral sobre los atributos de las pellas, sin embargo estos trabajos han sido fundamentados en la caracterización de una muestra del 75% de las pilas, sin tomar en cuenta los rangos de variabilidad de las características del material en un mismo lote. Por lo tanto surgió la necesidad de establecer una metodología para determinar dichos rangos y el impacto sobre la calidad fisica, metalúrgica y microestructural de los aglomerados, tomando en cuenta los parametros operativos de la Planta. El mineral evaluado fue de tipo hematítico- goetítico con martita y dentro de un mismo lote no se encontraron rangos de variabilidad significativos, apreciandose lo contrario con respecto a las correspondientes muestras del 75%, resultando que mientras mayor tonelaje presentan los lotes, más representativa resulta dicha muestra. A través de análisis estadísticos se establecieron interacciones y finalmente se plantearon modelos matemáticos que permiten predecir con alta confiabilidad los atributos de las pellas.

 

Processing of iron ore from heterogeneous reservoirs in recent years in Sidor CA, has led to the execution of studies to determine the effect of variability of iron ore characteristics on the attributes of the pellets, but these studies have been based on characterization of a sample of 75% of the lots of material, without taking into account the range of variability of material properties in the same batch. Thus arose the need to establish a methodology for determining these ranges and its impact on the physical, metallurgical and microstructure of the agglomerates, taking into account the operating parameters of the plant. The type of mineral evaluated was hematite-goethite with martita and within the same lot were no significant range of variability, but with respect to the samples for 75% were found significant differences. The results confirm that the higher tonnage present batches, the sample is more representative. Through statistical analysis established interactions and finally, mathematical models were raised that predict with high reliability attributes of the pellets.
