Resumo

Aços de médio teor de carbono são usados em diversos componentes mecânicos para a indústria automobilística. Estas são fabricadas a partir de barras mecânicas que são trefiladas e endireitadas, provenientes do processo de laminação a quente de fio- máquina. Com o objetivo de manter uma homogeneidade de suas propriedades físicas, as barras mecânicas devem possuir sua microestrutura, predominantemente perlítica, bem homogênea. A heterogeneidade da estrutura perlítica pode ocorrer pelo crescimento anormal dos grãos austeníticos durante os processos de reaquecimento. A presença de elementos microligantes e controle da temperatura de reaquecimento podem evitar o surgimento destas estruturas. Aqui foi estabelecido, para um aço médio teor de carbono, produzido na Usina de Monlevade, a curva de temperatura de crescimento anormal do grão austenítico em função do tempo e temperatura de reaquecimento.

 

Several mechanical components for the automotive industry are fabricated with medium carbon steels. These components are fabricated from bars that are deawn and straightened from original wire rod. With the goal of maintaining the homogeneity of its physical properties, the mechanical baras should possess its microstructure, predominantly pearlitic, very homogeneous. The presence of heterogeneous pearlitic structure can occur by the abnormal growth of the austenitic grains during the reheating process. The presence of micro alloying elements, control of the reheating temperature can avoid the appearance of these heterogeneous structures. Here the curve of temperature of abnormal growth of the austenitic grain to avoid the occurrence of the heterogeneous pearlitic structure was detemined for medium carbon steel, as function of time and temperature.
