Resumo

O principal objetivo deste trabalho é investigar a influência dos elementos químicos residuais na temperatura da interface cavaco-ferramenta durante a usinagem de aço de corte livre. As análises foram feitas usando aços com níveis altos e baixos dos elementos químicos residuais (Cr, Ni e Cu). A temperatura média foi determinada pela técnica do termopar ferramenta-peça em torneamento a seco com ferramenta de aço rápido em várias condições de usinagem. Os resultados mostram que pequenas variações nos níveis dos elementos residuais podem influenciar a temperatura da interface cavaco-ferramenta. As condições de corte (velocidade, profundidade e avanço) também exercem influência importante.

 

The present work aims to determine the influence of the tramp elements on the tool- chip interface temperature during turning of free-machining steels. Low and high levels of tramp elements (Cr, Ni and Cu) on the steels were considered for the analysis. The mean temperatures were determined by the tool-workpiece thermocouple technique in dry cutting with HSS tools under several cutting conditions. The results showed that small variation on the amount of the tramp elements can affect the chip-tool interface temperatures. The cutting conditions (cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut) also have great influences.
