Resumo

Facilities modernizations of ironmaking system, including material preparation, sintering, pelletizing, blast furnace process etc., are outlined. Qualities fluctuation of ferrous materials, coke and injecting coal are also listed along with the variations of burden configuration. Relative lower grade materials have been partially used and the potential impacts of which upon blast furnace performance are also mentioned. The major focus of this article is upon the practical technologies related to the enhancements of blast furnace operations, such as increasing oxygen enrichment corresponding with relevant higher PCI, sizing sinter into smaller and larger portions and charged separately, mixing ultra smaller seized coke with ferrous burden so as to improving gas utilization, optimizing burden distributions and tuyeres diameter, maintaining a reasonable furnace inner profile, keeping a relative stronger central gases flow, Taking a close attention on the efficient application of BF expert system etc.. Brief comments or discussions are made on the relationship between higher productivity and future environment protection issues.
