Resumo

Low coke ratio is one of the principal targets for the operators at blast furnace (BF) plant. In order to decrease the coke ratio further, the technical idea is to open the reductant roles of coke in BF ironmaking. After the reducing characteristics of the coke making process were analyzed, the low-carbon ironmaking technology on cotreatment of coal and iron-ore fines was proposed, and the first experiments were finished in laboratory scale. The results show that the reduction degree of the iron ore fines is up to 85% at 800°C of carbonization temperature, and 60% of Oxygen is removed by hydrogen. Comparing with ironmakking of BF, the emission of CO2 for this low-carbon ironmaking technology is reduced by 0.67 ton per ton metallic iron with good benefits of economy and environment.
