Resumo

O presente trabalho teve como finalidade avaliar a influência do tempo de síntese sobre o rendimento e a friabilidade dos cristais de diamante obtidos em condições de altas pressões e altas temperaturas no sistema Ni-Mn-C. Os resultados indicam que o rendimento do processo até seis minutos é significativamente afetado pelo tempo de síntese. A partir de sete minutos o rendimento não sofre alterações significativas. Por outro lado, os cristais obtidos em menores tempos de síntese exibiram menor friabilidade. Isto pode provavelmente estar associado ao fato de que em menores tempos os cristais exibem menor quantidade de defeitos.

 

This study aims to evaluate the influence of the time in diamond yield process and friability of the diamond crystals obtained under conditions of high pressure and high temperature in the Ni-Mn-C system. The results indicate that the yield process up to six minutes is significantly affected by the synthesis time. From seven minutes the diamond yield does not suffer significant changes. Moreover, the crystals obtained in minors synthesis times exhibited lower friability. This probably can be linked to the fact that in times smaller the crystals exhibit fewer defects.
