Resumo

No momento em que se inicia a fase de expansão que tornará ArcelorMittal Tubarão a maior Planta Siderúrgica do país entra em operação o Alto-Forno 3, com 3.617m3 e capacidade de produção de 2,8 milhões de toneladas por ano. Para que seja atingida a produção necessária de 8 milhões de toneladas de gusa por ano, atingiremos uma produtividade, no mínimo, 10% superior ao projeto. A entrada deste Alto-Forno em operação e sua elevação de produção tornam-se, desta forma, o foco da expansão na Área de redução da usina, que contou também com a elevação da produtividade da Sinterização e a construção de uma coqueria Heat Recovery no site da usina, cuja maior parte da produção destina-se ao Alto-Forno 3. Este trabalho visa apresentar alguns detalhes do planejamento envolvido no Start Up de um Alto-Forno, as etapas mais importantes do início de operação deste equipamento, os testes envolvidos e a elevação do ritmo de produção exigida para alcance dos objetivos da expansão.

 

ArcelorMittal has been going through an expansion process that will make it the largest Steel Plant in the country and, during this moment, the operation of Blast Furnace 3 came to a start, a 3,617m3 structure with production capacity of 2.8 million tons of hot metal per year. In order to achieve the total production of 8 million tons per year, it is necessary to reach productivity 10% higher than the project. Therefore, the start up of Blast Furnace 3 and its rise in production becomes the spotlight of the expansion in the Reduction Area, which also benefited from the rise in productivity of the Sinter Plant and the construction of a Heat Recovery Coke Plant that will supply all the coke consumed in Blast Furnace 3. This paper presents some details of the planning of the Start Up of a Blast Furnace, the most important phases involved, the tests and the increase in production required for the expansion.
