Resumo

O TRABALHO APLICA O MODELO MECANICISTA DE MOAGEM UFRJ E O MÉTODO DOS ELEMENTOS DISCRETOS PARA ANALISAR O EFEITO DA VELOCIDADE DO AGITADOR, DA PORCENTAGEM DE SÓLIDOS E DO TAMANHO DOS CORPOS MOEDORES NAS TAXAS DE QUEBRA APARENTE E NA FUNÇÃO QUEBRA DE UM MOINHO VERTICAL, OPERADO EM BATELADA, MOENDO MINÉRIO DE COBRE. AS TAXAS DE QUEBRA AUMENTAM SIGNIFICATIVAMENTE COM O AUMENTO DA VELOCIDADE DO AGITADOR. O AUMENTO DA PORCENTAGEM DE SÓLIDOS NA POLPA LEVOU A UMA DIMINUIÇÃO DAS TAXAS DE QUEBRA DO EQUIPAMENTO, AO PASSO QUE O AUMENTO NO TAMANHO DOS CORPOS MOEDORES RESULTOU EM UM AUMENTO NAS TAXAS DE QUEBRA DE PARTÍCULAS GROSSAS E UMA REDUÇÃO NAS TAXAS DE QUEBRA DE PARTÍCULAS FINAS.

 

THE WORK APPLIES THE UFRJ MECHANISTIC MILL MODEL AND THE DISCRETE ELEMENT METHOD TO ANALYZE THE EFFECT OF OPERATING CONDITIONS (STIRRER SPEED, PERCENT OF SOLIDS AND GRINDING MEDIA SIZE) ON APPARENT BREAKAGE RATES AND ON THE BREAKAGE FUNCTION OF A VERTICAL MILL OPERATED IN BATCH GRINDING OF A COPPER ORE. BREAKAGE RATES INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY WITH INCREASING STIRRER SPEED. THE INCREASE IN THE PERCENTAGE OF SOLIDS OF THE SLURRY LEADS TO A DECREASE IN BREAKAGE RATES OF THE EQUIPMENT, WHEREAS THE INCREASE IN GRINDING MEDIA SIZE RESULTED IN INCREASE IN BREAKAGE RATES OF THE COARSE PARTICLE AND THE DECREASE IN BREAKAGE RATES OF THE FINE PARTICLES.
