Resumo

A CVRD, para assegurar informações qualitativas, analíticas e críticas em seus processos laboratoriais envolvidos no negócio minério de ferro, implantou um sistema de gerenciamento de informações laboratoriais (LIMS) de configuração altamente flexível. A CVRD buscou uma solução que promoveu a padronização das atividades dos laboratórios das minas de exploração de minério de ferro da DIFS (Diretoria de Ferrosos Sul), com alta performance, menor custo total de propriedade e rápida entrada em produção, adequando-se aos novos requisitos de velocidade e confiança, numa época de franca expansão da CVRD. Inicialmente, o LIMS foi configurado para o laboratório de Alegria, sendo estendido aos demais sistematicamente, alterando-se o mínimo necessário para refletir a realidade de cada um, sem afetar a viabilidade dessa solução de TI. Esse processo contou com a participação ativa de todos os clientes, os maiores interessados no controle dos fluxos e na obtenção de informações gerenciais unificadas. Ao se discutir as rotinas padrão que seriam instaladas no LIMS, foi detectado um cenário com mais oportunidades de padronização e melhorias do que eram antes percebidas. A solução tornou possível visualizar todo o processo centralizado e padronizado no mesmo sistema, com um acompanhamento operacional simultâneo e ininterrupto, otimizando produtividade e a qualidade da rotina unificada, além de garantir a transmissão segura de seus dados, trazendo maior confiabilidade ao produto final de todo laboratório: informação.

 

Aiming to ensure the quality of analytical and critical information in our iron ore processing lab, CVRD has implemented LIMS, a multi-configurable Laboratory Information Management System. CRVD had been in search of a solution which would enable the standardization of its iron ore mining lab activities at DIFS - Iron Southern Ferrous Minerals Department. The system needed to provide high performance, lower total cost ownership and quick production startup, besides helping the company adjust to the demands for higher speed and reliability in this new expansion phase. LIMS was the solution. It was initially configured specifically for the Alegria Lab. Later on, with only minimal adjustments it was systematically deployed to other Labs. Its deployment had the active participation of all clients, the true beneficiaries of controlled flow and standardized management information. During the scope definition phase, it became clear that an even higher number of routines could be standardized, improving the overall process. LIMS enables the visualization in a single system of the whole process – now standardized and centralized – with simultaneous, uninterrupted operational follow-up. By optimizing productivity and improving the quality of the standardized routines, this solution guarantees the safe transmission of data, thus providing a higher reliability of the Lab’s final product: information.
