Resumo

O sopro de ar quente representa uma parcela significativa da energia do processo de um alto-forno. Os regeneradores são os equipamentos responsáveis pela elevação da temperatura do ar soprado via ventaneiras. O presente trabalho aborda uma diagnose de eficiência energética realizada nos regeneradores do Alto-Forno 3 da Usiminas. Contempla uma avaliação detalhada nos parâmetros de combustão envolvidos, sendo identificados diversos pontos para melhoria da eficiência energética do processo. Assim, foi proposto um plano de trabalho objetivando explorar estas oportunidades. Os resultados obtidos garantiram uma maior estabilidade nos controles operacionais, refletindo numa melhora significativa do consumo de combustíveis e possibilitando uma redução média de 44,1 Mcal/tgusa.

 

The hot blast represents a significant amount of the energy necessary in the blast furnace process. The equipment responsible for raising the air temperature to be blown through the tuyeres are the hot stoves. This paper approaches a diagnosis performed in the hot stoves of Usiminas’ Blast Furnace #3. It includes an evaluation of every combustion parameter involved in the process. The analysis identified several points to improve process energy efficiency. Therefore, an action plan was proposed aiming to explore these opportunities. In summary, the results ensured greater stability in the operational controls, reflecting an optimized fuel consumption which enabled an average reduction of 44,1 Mcal/thot metal.
