Resumo

No presente trabalho são apresentados os resultados obtidos na redução da ferrita de zinco equimolar, obtida em laboratório, utilizando como gás redutor 100% de CO e uma mistura 50% CO - 50% CO2. São também avaliados os efeitos: temperatura da reação e a percentagem de CO, na percentagem de redução da amostra de ferrita de zinco, óxido de ferro III e óxido de zinco, no intervalo 1073 - 1373 K. Estes ensaios foram complementados pela caracterização, física, química, estrutural e microscópica da ferrita de zinco. Concluiu-se que o aumento da temperatura bem como a percentagem de CO na mistura gasosa incrementou a redução da amostra de ferrita de zinco.

 

In this work the reaction between an equimolar synthetic zinc ferrite sample and a mixture of CO & CO2 gases is studied to evaluate the effects of temperature reaction and CO content, on the reduction of zinc ferrite, iron III oxide and zinc oxide. The temperature ranged from 1073 to 1373K, and the gas mixtures from 50% and 100% of CO. These tests were accompanied by physical, chemical, strutural and microscopic characterizations of the zinc ferrite generated in laboratory. It was observed that the temperature and CO content were the main factors affecting the zinc ferrite reduction.
