Resumo

A busca incessante pela redução de custos é uma constante em todos os ramos de negócios e na siderurgia não é diferente. Na área de refino primário (convertedores), um dos maiores custos é o do revestimento refratário. Assim, A GGMA definiu como uma de suas estratégias, a redução do custo específico de refratário de convertedor. Com isso, várias abordagens podem ser feitas, como por exemplo, redução do preço do revestimento e/ou aumento de vida do refratário. O presente trabalho vai mostrar os resultados da redução de custo específico de refratário, obtido através elevação da vida do revestimento. Um trabalho conjunto CSN/fornecedores de refratário foi desenvolvido buscando a interação entre as áreas técnicas. Reuniões periódicas foram realizadas, buscando identificar regiões a serem enobrecidas, tornando dessa forma, o revestimento “mais equilibrado”. Uma ferramenta fundamental para esse desenvolvimento foi medidor a laser (LaCam), que através de suas medições precisas, permitiu uma maior acertividade nas sugestões implementadas. Outros pontos que serão mostrados no trabalho é a redução do tempo de conversor disponível p/ reparo geral, o que aumentou o tempo disponível para produção e a elevação do índice de slag splashing. Com isso, o aumento da vida do revestimento e a redução do consumo específico de refratário obtida, foi significativa, alcançando valores de 6% acima do recorde e redução de até 60% no consumo específico de refratário, respectivamente.

 

The incessant search for cost reduction is a constant in all branches of businesses and in the metallurgy it is not different. In the steel plant field (converters), one of the largest costs is of the refractory lining. GGMA has defined as one of their strategies, the reduction of refractory specific cost from that, several approaches can be made, as for example, refractory price reduction and/or increase of life. The present work will show the results of refractory specific cost reduction through elevation of refractory lining life An united work CSN/refractory suppliers was developed looking for the interaction among the technical areas. Periodic meetings were accomplished, trying to identify areas to be ennobled, turning in that way, the most balanced covering". A fundamental tool for that development was the (LaCan) laser measurer, which came to give precision to the suggestions to be implemented. Other points that will be shown in the work are the reduction of available converter time for general repair , that increased the available time for production and the elevation of the index of slag splashing. With that, the increase of the life of the refractory and the reduction of the specific consumption of refractory obtained was significant, reaching values of 6% above the record and reduction up to 60% in the specific consumption of refractory , respectively.
