Resumo

No alto-forno, a informação sobre a real condição de nível de líquido no cadinho constitui ferramenta importante para um melhor gerenciamento das atividades de perfuração e tamponamento do furo de gusa. Tem-se como conseqüência, melhoria da qualidade do gusa, aumento da vida útil do cadinho e melhor da performance do alto-forno. Devido às condições existentes, tais como alta temperatura e pressão, ainda não foi desenvolvido um sensor industrial capaz de medir, continuamente, o nível de líquido no cadinho. No entanto, forças eletromotrizes (FEM) medidas na carcaça do alto-forno podem ser correlacionadas com o nível de líquido no interior do cadinho possibilitando medir, indiretamente, esta variável. A origem da força eletromotriz, o sistema de medição desenvolvido e interferências no sinal são apresentados neste trabalho.

 

Information on the real condition of the liquid level in the hearth has been considered as an important tool for a better control of the taphole drilling and tapping procedures. In addition, the hot metal quality, hearth useful life, and the blast furnace performance, in general, could be improved. Considering the existing conditions inside the blast furnace such as high temperature and pressure of the liquid, it is not developed yet an industrial sensor for measuring continuously the liquid level in the hearth. On the other hand, electromotive forces (EMF) measured in the blast furnace shell can be correlated with the liquid level in the hearth. This correlation could be used for measuring indirectly the liquid level in the hearth. So the objective of this paper is to present three important aspects associated with the liquid level in the hearth measurement, as follows: the origin of the electromotive force; the development of a measurement system and the signal interferences.
