Resumo

O gás COG gerado nos fornos de coque da Coqueria é utilizado como combustível, para fontes de energia térmica, em vários processos e unidades diferentes em toda a usina. A distribuição deste gás, para os equipamentos das unidades consumidoras e/ou armazenamento, se faz através de algumas dezenas de quilômetros de tubulações com diâmetros que podem variar de 12 mm até 4000 mm. Este gás conduzido através dos tubos, leva consigo algumas impurezas que vão sendo agregadas nas paredes internas dos tubos e, com o passar do tempo, tende-se a uma situação de obstrução parcial ou até total da tubulação, causando várias interferências nas unidades consumidoras. Este trabalho mostra como a técnica de termografia pode auxiliar na detecção e no diagnóstico de obstrução destas tubulações, bem como os critérios e metodologias que devem ser adotados durante as inspeções e análise dos resultados. Mostra, também, os resultados preliminares da primeira tentativa de limpeza da tubulação.

 

The COG generated in the coke plant furnaces is used as fuel for heat generation in several processes and units throughout the plant. The distribution of this gas, to equipments of the consuming units and/or storage units, is carried out through several kilometers of pipes with diameters varying from 12 mm to 4000 mm. This gas carried through pipes takes with it some impurities that adhere to the inner wall of the pipe and eventually results in a situation of partial and even total obstruction, causing several adverse effects in the gas consuming units. Despite the difficulties encountered in quantifying the obstruction inside the pipe, thermography turns out to be a very efficient technique for this application, since it enables qualitative analysis, which are the most appropriate ones for these cases. This paper shows how the thermographic technique may help in detecting and diagnosing the obstruction of these pipes, as well as the criteria and methodology that must be adopted during the inspections and analysis of the results.
