In order to investigate the energy saving effect of High Radiative Coating Technology (HRC) on No.2 5,500 m3 BF in Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd (Jingtang Co.), the energy-saving thermal diagnostic test and quantitative analysis comparison of thermal process are carried out between the No.2 5,500 m3 BF with HRC and No.1 5,500 m3 BF without HRC (each BF is equipped with four hot blast stoves). The diagnostic result shows that, when average blast temperature of the two BF are almost the same (No. 2 BF is only 1°C higher than No. 1 BF), compared with No.1 BF, the effective thermal utilization rate of No. 2 BF increased; the thermal efficiency increased 2.84%; the heat taken away by exhaust gas decreased 2.47%; the fuel gas consumption decreased 7.07%.
